Roof Greening Project Remarks

Thank you Mary.  Lisa, you have a lovely building here.

It is easy enough to find people who say all the right things about environmental awareness.  It is harder to find those who are taking the right steps and making the key investments that turn nice thoughts into solid projects.

This is a terrific partnership at work, producing results to be proud of.  Green roofs make environmental sense, in the benefits they yield, inside and outside the structures.  And they make economic sense, in the avoided costs.

Our city faces a big bill in paying for required improvements to the water infrastructure.  The absorptive capacity of green roofs helps with our serious stormwater problem.

Alternative energy is no longer a question mark; it is now an affordable answer.

As we continue to rehab and renew our communities, being energy smart is a vital part of the transformation.
