PennDOT Issues New Veteran License PlatesSenator Lloyd Smucker (R-Lancaster and York) is pleased to announce an opportunity for honorably discharged veterans of the United States Armed Forces to proudly display their service to their country through a new series of military license plates offered by PennDOT. The plates honor veterans of the five branches of the military, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard. "America's Veterans have served our country with courage and strength," Smucker said. "Spotting a military license plate while driving down the road will remind everyone of their heroism and sacrifice for our county." The new plates feature the standard Pennsylvania license plate colors of blue, white and yellow along with the applicable branch of service emblem or logo on the left side of the plate. Pennsylvania is printed at the top of the plate with the name of the applicable branch of service at the bottom. To obtain one of these plates, honorably discharged veterans must complete and mail FORM MV-150 to PennDOT and include a certified copy of their DD-214, along with a $20 fee. Form MV-150 is available on PennDOT's Driver and Vehicle Services Web site, www.dmv.state.pa.us. Forms can also be mailed by contacting Smucker’s Lancaster office at (717) 397-1309 or the York office at (717) 246-7534. Senator Smucker represents the 13th Senatorial District, which covers central and southern Lancaster County and the boroughs of East Prospect, Hallam, Wrightsville and Yorkana, and the townships of Chanceford, Hellam, Lower Chanceford, Lower Windsor, and Springettsbury in York County.
