Senator Smucker to Hold Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Open House at York
Office
Senator Lloyd K. Smucker (R – Lancaster and York Counties) will hold an Open
House for the constituents of the 13th Senatorial District on Thursday, May 14,
2009 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at his new District Office in York County. A ribbon
cutting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
"It is important that all residents of the 13th District have access to the
services provided at my district offices. The opening of this office in the
York portion of the 13th will assist in better communication with the
constituents, ultimately leading to better representation," Smucker commented.
The office, which opened in April, is located in the Lower Windsor Township
Municipal Building at 2425 Craley Road, Wrightsville. It is staffed Tuesday and
Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or by appointment on other days of the
week. The office provides informative materials including state maps, resources
for students, and information of special interest for older residents. The
office also is a source for copies of House and Senate bills and laws, answers
to questions regarding PA income tax, senior property tax and rent rebates, and
financial aid for students. The office will also assist in arranging tours of
the Capitol Building.
“This informal open house and ribbon cutting is a great opportunity to become
acquainted with my office, its services, my staff, and to learn what materials
are available.” Light refreshments will be served.
The 13th Senatorial District encompasses the eastern edge of York County
including the boroughs of East Prospect, Hallam, Wrightsville and Yorkana, and
the townships of Chanceford, Hellam, Lower Chanceford, Lower Windsor, and
Springettsbury as well as 22 municipalities in southern Lancaster
County.
