April 15, 2010 – Senator Smucker read books to Children at
Reidenbaugh Elementary School in Manheim Township for the Week of the Young

April 15, 2010 - Senator Smucker attended the LAVORP Annual Dinner. The senator
presented LAVORP with a citation for the organization's efforts in the District
Attorney's Victim Witness area. Craig Stedman, District Attorney and Pat Grosh
from his staff head up the victim witness office. The Victim Witness Program was
created to inform and educate all crime victims of their rights, giving them the
opportunity to take an active role in decisions related to how their case is
handled. This enables victims to receive justice and begin the healing. (Please click on photo for additional photos) |

8, 2010 - Senator Smucker spoke at the "Block Laying" ceremony at the The
Stockyards construction site on Marshall Avenue in Lancaster to recognize the
transformation of the 21-acre property into a business park. CoreSource is
expected to move its 300 employees from downtown to the site later this summer.
Also, Cargas Systems is expected to open its corporate office in another
building on the property. The building will have green aspects to it including
solar panels, generating some of its own power. Tim Harrison is the developer of

7, 2010 - More than 340 middle and high school students participated in the 2010
North Museum Science & Engineering Fair, held March 23-25 at Franklin & Marshall
College in Lancaster. Senator Smucker presented Marian Bechtel, Grand Champion
with a Senate Citation at the Champions of Science Dinner. (Photos

April 6, 2010 - Senator Lloyd Smucker presented a Senate Citation recognizing
Colleen Young-Horton. Ms. Young-Horton was the recipient of the Community Action
Association of Pennsylvania Self-Sufficiency Award given to individuals who
through extraordinary determination overcame insurmountable odds to achieve
self-sufficiency.
