Tribute to veterans at Lancaster Cemetery. 1600 veteran’s graves were decorated
with red roses at this beautiful and moving ceremony. Thank you, veterans!

January 16, 2013 - Toured Northview Farms, home of Smarty
Jones and the top 4 Thoroughbred stallions in the state. Pennsylvania's
thoroughbred breeding program is on par with any other state in the country,
including Kentucky. Northview is a beautiful place. We're pleased to have them

January 8, 2013 - Sponsored by Lancaster County's Oregon Dairy
Supermarket, Sen. Lloyd K. Smucker (R-West Lampeter) finished fourth out of 16
drivers Tuesday in the celebrity draft horse racing competition. The
fund-raising event is sponsored by the Friends of the PA Farm Show Foundation
and was held in the Equine Arena at the 2013 Pennsylvania Farm Show.
"I was very happy to participate in this event for such a worthy cause," Sen.
Smucker said following the race. "The Foundation is a great organization, and an
event like this really highlights the importance of what they do in the area of
agriculture education."
The Friends of the Pennsylvania Farm Show Foundation, Inc.
stimulates, facilitates, and supports educational programs, as well as events
and incentives relating to the annual Pennsylvania Farm Show.
The celebrity draft horse competition was first organized by State Sen. Mike
Waugh (R-Shrewsbury). In 2012, the race pulled in more than $11,000 in
sponsorship proceeds.
